Voice Of The Children ...their words are preserved, but their voices will never be heard again. Inspired by the desire to create a voice for those children who can no longer speak for themselves, Edward B. Kessel composed, Voice Of The Children for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C.. Voice Of The Children was written for the Museum’s Ceremonies of Remembrances and Dedications honoring Steven Spielberg, Eli Weisel and Isaac Stern for their efforts on behalf of Holocaust survivors and victims. Composed for flutist Miriam Lynn Nelson, this music sings the poetic words and pictures created by children of the ghetto, Terezin. Zubin Mehta, renowned conductor of the Israel Philharmonic, selected Voice Of The Children for their repertoire list for next season.

Voices Of Art, Edward Kessel’s first major symphonic work for orchestra, is dedicated to his father Jerold J. Kessel. Based on four paintings by Deborah Korins and Jon Ellis, Voices Of Art tells a musical tale of each painting. It was premiered by The New Philharmonic of New Jersey, Leon Hyman conducting, on May 6, 1995. The piece received the highest critical acclaim! Peter Spencer of The Star Ledger wrote:

A Ride In The Rumbleseat, composed by Edward B. Kessel for brass quintet, takes the listener on a sprightly, fun, frolicking ride! It was first premiered by the New Philharmonic of New Jersey’s Brass Quintet in 1994 and has been performed by numerous brass quintets throughout the world. Tale Of Two Cities, a new musical based on the Charles Dickens novel, is destined to be the next Broadway hit! Composer/Lyricist - Jill Santoriello; Arranger/Orchestrator - Edward B. Kessel; Producers - Barbara Russel and Ron Sharpe. A concert version of Tale Of Two Cities was performed in Nyack, NY in May, 2000 with Broadway talent including: Christiane Noll (Emma Carew in Jekyll & Hyde/Broadway), Robert Evans (Jean Val Jean in Les Miserable/Broadway, Jekyll in Jekyll & Hyde/Broadway), Alex Santoriello (Les Miserable & Chess/Broadway), Allan Fitzpatrick (Les Miserable, Scarlet Pimpernel, Damn Yankees, Guys and Dolls, Sunset Boulevard and more - all on Broadway), Raymond Jaramillo McLeod (Soundtrack recordings - The Abyss and Apollo 13, Jekyll & Hyde/Broadway and The Civil War/Broadway), Natalie Toro (Eponine in Les Miserable/Broadway, Grizabella in Cats/ Broadway), Rita Harvey (Christine Daee in The Phantom Of The Opera/Broadway) and others. Is This Love and Nothing At All, composed and produced by Marc Hoffman appeared in the Troma Productions’ feature film “The Toxic Avenger.”
