Edward B. Kessel,
Composer/Producer/Trumpeter founded
Sound Imagination, a music production company in
1986. Composing and producing music for his steadily growing
company, he has written and produced film scores, TV
soundtracks, jingles, and a variety of other commercial
productions. His credits include projects for Steven Spielberg,
Tony Bennett, Zubin Mehta, AT&T, Macy’s, Six Flags and
National Geographic. |

In 1995, Edward appeared on the
nationally televised show, Preview, for his work on the
soundtrack of the movie, Passing Thru Linden, Francis Ford
Coppola, Executive Producer. In October 1998, Edward completed a Grammy
nominated Columbia Records CD with Tony Bennett, Rosie O'Donnell, Kermit
The Frog, and Elmo, as co-director of KidzAmerica. He recently
composed and produced the score for a feature film entitled Some Fish
Can Fly, produced by Zopap Entertainment, which was released in
theaters November 1999. In that same year he wrote the soundtrack to a
National Geographic TV special entitled “Crows,” which aired
on national TV.
Mr. Kessel has also composed various pieces for orchestra and chamber
music ensembles. His composition Voices Of Art, a symphonic work
for Orchestra, was premiered by The New Philharmonic of New Jersey, Leon
Hyman conducting, on May 6, 1995. The piece received the highest
critical acclaim and was recently recorded on CD. Additional major
compositions include A Ride in the Rumble Seat and Jupiter’s
Circus, for Brass Quintet, published by Hidalgo Music Publications,
and a children’s ballet, The Toy Shop, premiered by The New
Philharmonic in 1994. Recently, Mr. Kessel composed a dramatic character
piece for the United States National Holocaust Memorial Museum’s
Ceremonies of Remembrances and Dedications. Written in honor of Steven
Spielberg, Isaac Stern and Eli Wiesel, for their efforts on behalf of
Holocaust survivors and victims, this piece will be featured in a
performance at the Holocaust Museum and recorded on CD. Zubin Mehta,
world renowned conductor of the Israel Symphony Orchestra,
enthusiastically added Voice Of The Children to their repertoire
list for next season. In 1998, Edward received a fellowship from the New
Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
In addition to his composition and production career, Mr. Kessel
performs as a freelance trumpeter in studios and performs regularly with
The New Philharmonic of New Jersey, Garden State Brass Quintet, and The
New Vintage Brass. He appeared at Carnegie Hall (NY) in 1992, in a
performance under the auspices of the Christian Broadcast Network,
featuring sacred choirs from around the world. In 1994, he traveled to
Rome along with the Queen of Peace Choir (New Jersey) performing at an
audience for the Pope at the Vatican. His playing has been heard on
numerous nationally broadcast commercials and soundtracks.
Marc Hoffman
Composer/Producer/Singer
Marc Hoffman,
Composer/Producer/Singer/Percussionist, joined Sound Imagination
in 1988. He has composed and produced jingles, film scores, TV themes
and a variety of other commercial productions. Among his many
prestigious clients are: Macy’s, Six Flags and Westin Hotels. In 1999,
Marc co-wrote the score for the critically acclaimed feature film, Some
Fish Can Fly. It has been seen in theaters along the East Coast.
Marc has established himself as a successful songwriter and producer.
His song, When The Rain Came Down, was recorded by Miho Nakayama,
one of Japan’s best selling recording artists. When The Rain Came
Down the CD went up...to #4 on the Japanese Billboard Chart! Another
international hit by Mr. Hoffman is Compartir, recorded by
EMI/Latin recording artist Jailene.
In 1998, Marc teamed up with co-writer Lauren Gibbs and composed another
gem entitled, Believe. Believe has been a featured
Pop/Rock song three times on MP3.com. It soared to #1 on Soundclick.com,
#1 on AMP3.com, #2 on Musicmatch.com and has remained in the Top
10 Most Popular Downloads on Musicmatch.com for over one year! Believe
has also been picked up by MP3.com’s Retail Music Program and receives
thousands of plays per month.
Marc’s talent was realized at an early age when he wrote and produced Is
This Love and Nothing At All, which appeared in the Troma
Productions’ feature film, “The Toxic Avenger.”
Currently, Marc performs in studios throughout the New York area as a
session singer and drummer. When you hear him sing...you might just
think to yourself, “I know that voice!”
Donald A. Spaulding
Engineer/Producer
Donald A. Spaulding, recording engineer/producer/french hornist joined
Sound Imagination in February of 2000. He has produced
radio commercials, music and audio for various clients including,
Egyptian Tourism, David’s Bridal, The Star Ledger and Mercedes Benz of
White Plains. Don produced full length CD’s for the Garden State
Philharmonic, North Jersey Philharmonic, La Bella Voce Opera, Quintet of
the Americas and numerous solo artists. An accomplished musician, Don
began his music education at the age of 6 studying violin and french
horn. He went on to study Music Performance at Manhattan School of Music
. As a professional, Don plays for Miss Saigon and Cats on
Broadway and has performed with national tours of Miss Saigon, The
Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and West Side Story.
Mr. Spaulding is a certified Pro Tools®
sound engineer and specializes in on-location recording. He continues as
staff engineer/producer for the Quintet of the Americas and the Garden
State Philharmonic. Don performs frequently with with the Harrisburg
Symphony, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Albany Symphony and
the Riverside Symphonia.
